Race director's philosophy

The Buffalo Paddle-Bike-Run is the vision of artist, professor and entrepreneur Justin W. Dahl. Justin is an avid paddler and long-time tour guide for Buffalo Harbor Kayak at Buffalo’s newly revamped CanalSide. Also, Justin has worked as a ropes instructor and canopy zip line guide for Camp Canaan as well as the Jewish Community Center of Buffalo's Camp Centerland and a ski instructor of local ski resorts. He received his MFA from Radford University and has traveled throughout Europe and the United States extensively. After competing in races such as The Tough Mudder, The Finn McCool, The Rock and Roll Half Marathon, Buffalo Marathon, and The Just a Short Run Marathon he trained to compete in A Tri in The Buff in 2014. After training for many months he was able to complete the race but with the swim proving to be too much for him. Working on the Buffalo River and knowing the need in Buffalo for an adventure race; the Buffalo Paddle-Bike-Run was born. The event is designed for athletes and families alike.  There are 2 courses available and there is no timing. With the resurgence and revitalization of Buffalo’s waterfront, thanks to many organizations,
Justin is working with local municipalities to make this an annual event to encourage
awareness and bring families as well as athletes to the growing waterfront, Silo City and the City of Buffalo.
