Both routes will leave from the Silo City Dock in waves of participants separated by ability (more advanced going first). Paddlers will be assisted into the water where each wave will leave at the same time with a whistle start. The paddle consists of a 2.24 mile (Beginner) or 4.66 mile (Advanced) paddle that is an out and and back up the Buffalo River. The Buffalo River has little current and is calm water. At the end of your paddle you and/or your team will land on a ramp where you will be required to portage your vessels about 50 ft to the transition area. From here you will begin the bike phase of the race.
